Food For Life Spain Technology Platform – Packaging working group

On 15 September, María José López, professor at the University of Almería and project coordinator, will present the Recover project: new routes for the bio-recycling of plastic waste from the agricultural and food sectors, within the framework of the Packaging Working Group, as part of the Food For Life – Spain Technology Platform.

The aim of the PTF4LS is to promote the transmission of research, scientific and technological advances through public-private collaboration of the main agri-food sector agents in relation to R&D&I and the detection of new demands in the field of Society’s Challenges, ensuring the competitiveness and growth of the Spanish agri-food sector.

The main lines of interest of the Packaging Working Group are as follows:

– Active and intelligent packaging: new developments in food packaging.

– Packaging and food safety: its impact on product quality.

– Identification of new materials in packaging for food contact.

– Packaging as a communication tool in the food and beverage industry.

– Internet of Packaging: new technological resources in packaging for the food and beverage industry.

– New habits according to the consumption pattern, for groups of special importance: accessibility of packaging aimed at senior groups, millennials as great disruptors of the packaging industry.

– More sustainable packaging: practical application of circular economy guidelines and innovations in recycling.

– Packaging as a critical factor in e-commerce logistics operations.

– Personalisation of packaging as a key factor in product differentiation strategy.
